Financial Reporting
Increasingly, the management of publicly traded and private companies
is being asked to provide auditors and regulatory agencies with reliable
measures of fair value for the companies’ assets (financial, tangible
and intangible) and their equity interests (in the case of private companies).
Responding to this need for cost-effective appraisal solutions for company
management and their advisors, FMV Opinions is staffed with professionals
who specialize in appraisals for financial reporting purposes. Our professionals
have the relevant work experience at major accounting firms, and the educational
credentials and professional designations to evidence their expertise
in these matters.
In addition to providing fair values for assets acquired in business
combinations under Financial
Accounting Standard No. 141, we also provide fair values for reporting
units which provide company management with an indication of goodwill
impairment under FAS 142. In many cases, our purchase price allocations
of acquired assets in business combinations are also utilized for tax
purposes.
Utilizing our business valuation
expertise, we provide reliable estimates of fair value for company business
interests (preferred and/or common stock) and estimates for the fair value
of employee stock options under FAS 123(R).
